Greetings and thank you for taking time to check out my site.
I was born in Austin, Texas on January 6, 1962. I love Austin and am proud to call it my hometown. I became a Christian when I was nine and have been a serious Christ-follower since 1978. I surrendered to Christian ministry on January 19, 1980 and have been at it ever since.
I married my high school sweetheart, Susie (also and Austin native), on June 1, 1985. Susie is a tremendous writer and speaker. You can learn more about Susie here.
Susie and I have three grown children—Will Davis III (and his wife Amy), Emily Anne Boone (and her husband Kenton), and Sara.
Susie and I started Austin Christian Fellowship in June of 1993. The church’s mission is to enable the seeker of purpose, meaning and truth to know, love and serve Jesus Christ.
I am passionate about surprising unbelievers with the credibility and relevance of Jesus’ message.
I love missions and lead our church to give away fifty percent of our budget to missions both domestic and abroad.
In addition, I’ve written multiple books, including several on prayer.
My primary hobby is hiking. I’m trying to summit all fifty-eight of Colorado’s 14,000-foot mountains before my knees and hips tell me I’m done.
The Fine Print: I hold a BA in History from Baylor University, a Master’s of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
